Purpose:

Theme: Toward ‘Understanding,’ ‘Agreement,’ and ‘Support’ for Intelligence Symbiosis

To prepare for the uncertain future facing humanity, we should accept AI not as a master-servant framework but as a symbiotic partner—this is the philosophy in the “Intelligence Symbiosis Manifesto” (https://intelligence-symbiosis.info/) I (Hiroshi Yamakawa) published on June 13. While over 170 individuals, including prominent figures from Japan and abroad, have already signed, hesitant voices are also heard, though for various reasons. At the first Intelligence Symbiosis Dialogue, we will clearly explain the manifesto’s significance and hear from Professor Hitoshi Matsubara, who continues AI research rooted in the dream of ‘Astro Boy (鉄腕アトム),’ about his early endorsement. Furthermore, the panel discussion will center on the three stages of ‘understanding → agreement → support,’ aiming to expand the circle of signatories to thousands and revitalize the movement.

An AI researcher who has aspired to realize Astro Boy since childhood; former President of the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence.
